You can request delayed or specific-date delivery, but availability depends on the artist, payment method, and courier limitations.
Delivery After a Certain Date
If you’d like your artwork delivered after a specific date, there are a few options depending on how long you’d like to delay shipment.
Short-Term Holds (Up to 7 Days)
If you pay via Bank Transfer, you can secure the artwork today and finalise payment within 7 days. The artwork will not be shipped until full payment is received.
Longer Holds (Over 7 Days)
If you’d like the artist to hold the artwork for longer than 7 days, please contact the artist directly before purchasing to confirm whether they’re able to accommodate this. This ensures the work can be stored safely until you’re ready for delivery. Once confirmed, our team can assist with shipping when the artwork is ready to go.
Please note that not all artists are able to offer delayed shipping, and acceptance is entirely at their discretion.
Requesting Delivery on a Specific Day
As most artworks are shipped directly from the artist’s studio (see exceptions below), we cannot guarantee delivery on an exact date.
Courier or Australia Post Deliveries:
Deliveries are provided with an estimated arrival date (ETA). Actual delivery may occur 1–3 business days either side of this date. Unfortunately, we cannot request a specific delivery day for these services.Local Artist Deliveries:
If the artist is local to you, it may be possible to arrange delivery on a specific day. Please contact our Customer Service Team at help@bluethumb.com.au, and we’ll do our best to assist.
Additional Notes
Packaging Time:
Artists are allowed 1–5 business days to safely package artworks.Average Transit Time:
Once shipped, delivery generally takes around 3-7 business days (depending).Exceptions:
Artworks from Bluethumb’s Melbourne Gallery or remote Aboriginal Art Centres may take longer to dispatch.
Framed Artworks:
Adding framing will extend delivery time by 7–14 business days as the piece is sent to a framer first, then forwarded to you.Seasonal Delays:
Courier and postal networks often experience delays during November–December. While we’ll always assist where possible, these are outside of our control.
