I'm not getting Bluethumb Emails?

Assisting with some known issues on why you may not be receiving emails from us

Written by Kate Revill

There are a couple reasons why you may not be receiving emails from us. Below are a few of the most common known reasons with some guidance on how to over come.

Please note you will receive a variety of different emails from Bluethumb, some transactional (e.g. sale notification emails, payment notifications), weekly newsletters (e.g. notification of promotional periods, or changes to site) some marketing emails linked to site activity (e.g. New Art emails form followed artists, abandon cart emails). Understanding which emails are missing is helpful to understand the cause.

Domains Automatically Allocate

Many email domains are now automatically allocating the emails you receive into folders for you. As some of our emails, especially the transactional sale ones, are automated they can sometimes be accidentally classified as spam or as marketing emails and allocated to a seperate folder.

You may need to check the following folders to make sure your email domain is not auto filing the emails incorrectly for you:

  • Junk

  • Spam

  • Other (not all domains have this but some have split inbox info focuses/active and Other example below)

Hard Bounce

A hard bounce is an email that has failed to deliver for permanent reasons, such as the recipient's address is invalid, invalid domain name, recipients mail server is none existent, or the domain provider has blocked receiving emails from that address to name a few.

In this case you will need to check with your domain provider on how to release the block.

Spam Complaint

Normally spam complaints are manual complaints made by email recipients (meaning a human has to flag the email as spam) but from time to time email domains do automatically tag some of our transactional emails (because they are automated and we send a lot) as spam.

Blocks or automated allocations are imposed by your domain, and due to strict laws on spam emailing we are unable to lift them. The block's have to be lifted from the users side. You will need to add the below email address to a "trust" list within your domain's system to ensure that all future emails are received. And ensure any pre existing spam complaints made against us are retracted.

To prevent your domain from doing this you will need to trust our email address' to ensure the emails go into your main folder, we use a few. Below is a list of the emails you will need to trust:

Please note Bluethumb team can not advise how to add the above emails to your domains trust list. If you are unsure how to do this please contact your domain providers Customer Support team for further assistance.

You are unsubscribed from our emails

As previously mentioned we send a few different email types. If you unsubscribe from receiving these emails we do have to remove you from the email sends so you could be missing out on important emails.

Depending on which email you unsubscribe from, this could mean you are unsubscribed from receiving transactional emails (e.g. sale notification emails, shipping emails, payment emails) or from notification emails (e.g. upcoming events, prizes, promotional periods etc).

If you want to remove yourself from Marketing Emails only, or reset the frequency on how often we send these emails, simply log into your account with us and head to Notification Settings page. You can then make the according changes, not forgetting to save once done.

Incorrect email address

It does happen, people do make spelling mistakes in their email address more frequently than you think. Please check the email address you have listed in your profile is correct, this is where we are sending all email communication to.

If you have looked at all the above areas and are still unable to understand why you are not receiving emails please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service Team, we will investigate into the issue as quickly as we can.

If you have looked at all of the above and are still not receiving emails from us please feel free to reach out to help@bluethumb.com.au and a staff member will assist further.
