What are the requirements to sell on Bluethumb?

A guide to the requirements to sell your work on site

Before creating an artist account and listing on Bluethumb, please make sure you meet the requirements below.

Quick checklist

You must:

  • Be 18+ (legal age to sell)

  • Be based in Australia for tax purposes, and your artwork must be located in Australia

  • List only your own original work (you must hold the copyright/IP)

  • Be able to pack and dispatch orders on time

  • Have basic computer skills to manage your account online

  • Have an active, monitored email address

  • Log in regularly to keep listings and contact details up to date

  • Be able to print required documents (e.g., shipping labels)

  • Communicate professionally with collectors and Bluethumb staff

  • Comply with the Bluethumb Membership Agreement


Order fulfilment timeframe

Artists have 5 days from the order date to pack and prepare the artwork. The artwork must be in transit by day 6 at the latest.


Technology support note

Bluethumb does not provide training for internet/computer use or support for personal hardware, email providers, or internet services.


Original work only

We don’t accept listings where the seller does not own the copyright/IP or are not the original creator of the artwork. For more details, see: What kind of art can I sell on Bluethumb?


Packing and printing

Artists are responsible for packing to Bluethumb requirements (either personally or via a paid service provider). You’ll also need access to a printer for shipping labels and any required documents. Once you have an Artist account with us you can access the below FAQ's for more info:


Membership Agreement

By creating an account and listing artworks, you confirm you have read and agree to the Bluethumb Membership Agreement.
