What is it?
“Boosting” is a way to increase your listing's visibility on Bluethumb. Think of it like placing your piece in a premium display spot—getting it in front of more collectors and increasing its chances of being seen and sold.
How does it work?
When you boost a listing, it moves to the top of our “New Art” feed and the newly introduced “Featured Art” page.
How do I boost a new listing?
After uploading a new listing, you’ll be prompted to “Boost My Artwork”.
The boost price is calculated as 5% of your artwork’s base price and rounded to the nearest $9, with a minimum of $19 and a maximum of $99 per listing.
Complete the payment securely.
Once boosted, your listing moves to the top of relevant feeds.
How do I boost an existing listing?
If you want to boost an existing listing, go to My Artwork, click the TRY BOOST button on any listing, and follow the same process.
You can also REBOOST a previously boosted listing to refresh its position.
What are the benefits of boosting an artwork listing?
Your artwork appears higher in the New Art feed.
Boosted artworks are displayed on the new Featured Art page
Reboosting resets the artwork’s position, keeping it in front of collectors.
More exposure can lead to faster sales and increased interest in your art.
Where is my boosted artwork listing shown?
New Art Feed: Boosted artworks are displayed at the top of this feed for maximum visibility.
Featured Art page: All boosted listings appear here, ordered by freshness (based on the latest boost).
Home page: A selection of boosted artworks is highlighted in the “Featured Art” section.
How long does the boost last?
The boost lasts until newer boosted or newly added artworks surpass the artwork listing. Essentially, the artwork stays at the top until newer content appears or it’s reboosted.
When might Artists use this feature?
Boosting can help your artwork get noticed when you want extra visibility. Some great times to use it include:
Reboosting older listings – Give past artworks a fresh chance to be seen by moving them back to the top of collector feeds.
Highlighting discounted artworks – If you’re running an Artist Deal, boosting can help ensure collectors see it while it’s on sale.
Launching a new collection – Boosting can ensure your newest series is seen straight away by collectors browsing New Art.
Seasonal or timely relevance – For example, boosting floral works around spring, coastal pieces in summer, or giftable artworks during holiday seasons.
Driving momentum – If a listing is receiving a lot of likes, boosting it can help turn that interest into a sale.
Will my listings be visible if I don’t boost them?
Yes! All listings remain visible in the standard feeds and search results. Boosting simply gives your artwork extra visibility and a better chance to stand out to collectors.
Why is the cost to boost a listing a percentage and not a flat rate?
Think of boosting like placing your artwork in a premium display spot—similar to a featured window in a gallery or magazine ad.
Lower-priced artworks get a boost without the fee being too high.
Higher-priced artworks have a proportional boost cost relative to the potential sale value.
Charging a small percentage ensures the cost scales with the potential return, making the system balanced for all artists. A flat fee might feel cheap for a $5,000 painting or expensive for a $150 piece—this way, it’s proportional and fair.
Can I boost more than one artwork at a time?
Yes, you can boost as many listings as you’d like.
How often can I reboost the same artwork?
As many times as you want.
Does boosting guarantee my artwork will sell?
No—boosting doesn’t guarantee a sale. What it does is give your artwork more visibility, which increases the likelihood of attracting collectors.
On average, an artwork needs around 100 individual page views before it sells. Boosting helps you get those views faster by putting your work in front of more potential buyers.
If I change the base price of my artwork after boosting, does the boost fee also change?
No—the boost fee is calculated at the time of purchase. Even if you later reduce the price, you won’t receive a refund if the price changes after boosting.
However, if you choose to reboost the artwork later, the new fee will be based on the updated price.
Are boost fees refundable?
No–once a boost is purchased, the fee is non-refundable. Any paid boost cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
How will I know if boosting worked? Will I see extra stats or insights?
Yes—you’ll be able to track the performance of your boosted artworks in your artist dashboard. Metrics such as page views, favourites, and other engagement signals will help you see the impact of boosting and how much extra attention your artwork is receiving.
Can I boost listings with Artist Deals and during site-wide promotions?
Yes! You can boost any listing, including those with Artist Deals and site-wide promotions. Boosting works in conjunction with discounts, helping ensure that your discounted or promotional artworks appear at the top of feeds and receive maximum visibility among collectors.
